"Survival of the Dead," the sixth installment of George A. Romero's popular zombie franchise, will receive an April 30 debut on Video on Demand followed by a limited theatrical run May 28.
As the second in a proposed four-film chronicle focusing on minor characters from "Diary of the Dead," the film revolves around a conflict between two families, one led by Patrick O'Flynn (Kenneth Welsh) and the other by Seamus Muldoon (Richard Fitzpatrick).
The O’Flynns are intent on slaughtering all zombies; the Muldoons want to safely secure the infected until a cure can be found. Caught in the middle of this conflict is 'Nicotine' Crocket (Alan Van Sprang) -- last seen in "Diary of the Dead" -- and his soldiers, who simply seek a safe hideout.
