Series will be an Internet based spinoff of The CW show 'Supernatural'
Warner Bros. and McG's Wonderland Sound and Vision are teaming on "Ghostfacers," an Internet based spinoff of The CW show "Supernatural."
Production is already underway on the project, which follows a zany documentary team of ghost hunters. It will initially run as 10 three-minute episodes on TheWB.com and CWtv.com.
"It felt like the nature and style of what they do with their show-within-a-show would be fun to see in new media," said Peter Johnson of Wonderland Sound and Vision. "It's a fun, subversive way to allow these characters to play in the margins."
The "Ghostfacers" documentary team first appeared in Season 1 of "Supernatural" during the episode "Hell House," and later returned in the Season 3 episode "Ghostfacers."
During the first Internet episode the team will investigate a theater believed to be haunted by the ghost of a young starlet played by Kelly Carlson ("Nip/Tuck").
"Ghostfacers" stars A.J. Buckley ("CSI: NY"), Travis Wester ("Bones"), Brittany Ishibashi ("Supernatural") and Austin Basis ("Life Unexpected").
