Malcolm McDowell and Carrie-Anne Moss have signed aboard writer-director Michael J. Bassett's "Silent Hill: Revelation 3D," according to Deadline.

Shooting on the sequel kicked off last month in Toronto and will now continue with McDowell (Rob Zombie's "Halloween") as Leonard Wolf and Moss (The Matrix Trilogy) as Claudia Wolf.

Davis Films' Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody ("Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D"), who teamed with director Christophe Gans on the original film, are once again producing.

“Carrie has displayed her enormous talent across all genres -- from The Matrix Trilogy to 'Memento' -- and we are delighted for her to join the world of Silent Hill," said Hadida. "She will certainly bring a new level of excitement to fans of the video game franchise.”

Calling McDowell "an icon of modern cinema," Bassett has been a fan of the actor since viewing "A Clockwork Orange" as a teenager.

"He has an amazing ability to bring new and unexpected dimensions to his characters," Bassett explained, "and I know he will bring something unique and disturbing to Silent Hill.”

Also aboard the sequel are Radha Mitchell ("The Crazies"), Sean Bean ("Game of Thrones"), Deborah Kara Unger (Takedown"), Adelaide Clemens ("X-Men Origins: Wolverine") and Kit Harington ("Game of Thrones").

"Silent Hill: Revelation 3D" -- based on the acclaimed survival horror video game created by Konami -- centers on a teenage girl and her father who are hunted by supernatural forces. On the eve of her 18th birthday, the girl discovers a shocking secret about herself as her terrifying nightmares intensify and her father goes missing.
