MTV is renewing its hit drama series "Teen Wolf" for a third season.
Featuring 24 episodes, Season 3 is the largest episode order for MTV in the scripted category to date; the move also marks the network's first renewal of a prime time scripted series for a third season.
“‘Teen Wolf’ represents a terrific foray into the scripted world for the millennial MTV audience, and marks tremendous success in the continued diversification of our schedule,” said David Janollari, head of MTV programming. “Renewing the show for a third season celebrates the creative vision of executive producer Jeff Davis and the remarkable talent of the cast who bring this bona fide fan favorite to life.”
The series draws 1.8 million total viewers each week and currently ranks as the No. 1 show across all television in its time period among the P12-34 demographic.
“Teen Wolf” tells the story of transformation set against the backdrop of contemporary teen life, with a forbidden, romantic love story at its core.
Jeff Davis ("Criminal Minds") developed the series and serves as an executive producer. Marty Adelstein ("Prison Break"), René Echevarria ("Medium," "Castle"), Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley also executive produce, with Russell Mulcahy ("Highlander," "Resident Evil: Extinction") serving as a co-executive producer.
The series, which airs Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET, stars Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, Dylan O'Brien as Stiles, Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale, Holland Roden as Lydia Martin and Colton Haynes as Jackson Whittemore.
Season 3 will lens in Los Angeles.
