Sock’s crush on his new sister goes even further, he is seriously considering taking medication to curb his “urges” when it comes to her.
The demon tonight considered herself a vampire when she was alive, and now she is one in her demon form. She’s a creepy one too; she has many fangs instead of two. Sam quickly dusts her, in Buffy fashion.
There is a little surprise though – she has a baby upstairs and the boys are going to have to care for it now that she’s gone.
They take the baby to Gladys at the DMV, but she tells them they have to raise the baby. As always, Gladys has some witty comments and advice for them, but they don’t take it.
At The Work Bench, Ted is bothering Andy. He gives her an invitation for dinner that she assumes is from Sam.
Sam, Ben, and Sock are trying to learn about taking care of a baby. Kristen comes in and takes the baby, making Sock jealous.
They’re old friend Tony (one of the demons from last season) pops in, to warn them about the demons trying to kill him. It’s a bit too late, but Tony hears the baby. They boys offer to give it to him, which is something he’s always wanted. He names the baby “Stevie” after his old demon boyfriend, and takes the baby. Relieved, the boys return to their normal lives.
Andy follows the instruction on the invitation, only to find Morgan waiting for her. It isn’t Sam, and she’s angry. He drops a bomb on her and tells her that Sam is the son of the devil just like himself.
Sam’s dad is attempting to get him to spend some quality time with him. It’s not working, Sam is always busy at work, with Andy, or slaying demons.
Upset with Sam, Andy confronts him about the devil. She’s unbelievably angry, and it’s another fight for the couple.
The Devil appears to Sam and tells him that the baby has to go back to hell immediately. The boys go after Tony to get the baby. They have a plan to get him out of his house and use the vessel to send the baby back.
Tony interrupts them mid-plan and tries to kill them. At the last minute, they come up with a plan to keep the baby out of hell – they’re going to baptize her.
They call Andy in to act as Stevie’s mom, and Sam has to be the dad. Tony can’t be in the church or he’ll burst into flame. Apparently Sam can go in because he’s only half demon.
Sam and Andy work out their differences on their way up the alter, and she tells him that she’s very worried about the fact that he’s The Devil’s son. While they aren’t looking, The Devil cleverly calls the baby buggy to him across the street. Sam chases after it, and manages to get the baby before it tumbles into hell.
The Devil comes to him and takes the baby, claiming that she’s inherently evil. Sam tries to negotiate, and it becomes apparent to The Devil that he wants to save the baby because Sam couldn’t save himself from his evil destiny.
Sam suggests she can damage way more people if she is allowed to live out her life, and The Devil likes this idea. He claims that Sam can’t stop her nature, but allows her stay anyway.
Sock decides not to take his medication for his “problem” with his sister at the last minute. Kristen sneaks up on him and sees what he’s doing. She tells him not to change; she loves him just the way he is.
Sock instead works out his sexual frustrations on the racquetball court with Kristen, and this is an awesomely hilarious scene.
Morgan comes to see Andy again, and he’s surprised to find that she still likes Sam even though he’s the son of The Devil. Morgan warns her that Sam is evil and she doesn’t see it.
Sam takes pity on his Dad, and allows him to come live in his garage at his house with Ben and Sock. Apparently things are way over between his Mom and Dad, and Sam wants to help him.
What Worked
Another great demon! She was very creepy, and made me miss Buffy more than I can say. Plus there was even a mention of our favorite slayer from The Devil himself. I only wish we could have seen more of the mother demon in this episode.
What was also great was the priest, played by Alessandro Juliani who played Felix Gaeta on Battlestar Galactica. They’ve also had Kandyse McClure on in the past, who played Dualla on. I love to see familiar faces in any genre show; it’s like a little treasure hunt for us geeks.
The racquetball scene was great this week. Sock is funny as always, especially when he is screaming at Kristen and she is cowering (near tears) in the corner. He found a way to work out his sexual frustration, and it was well worth it!
What Didn’t Work
Another great episode, but I’m getting tired of Andy being angry with everyone all the time. This week it was about Sam being the son of The Devil (which is a pretty big deal), and it seems like just yesterday she was angry that he was gone so long over the summer. And if she’s not mad at Sam, it Sock – for hiring Ted behind her back or for making up an alter ego to get double pay checks. As of now, Sam is not keeping anything else from her, so hopefully it’s the end of it. It seemed like, for a while, she had something new to argue about every week.
Kriten was still annoying this week, it baffles me that a pretty woman would walk around in super short shorts and belly shirts in a house full of men. She just doesn’t seem like the smartest, especially when she’s not really related to any of them. She’s asking for trouble!
