Revamped Horror Network To Air Original Special

Cable network Chiller will premiere a retrospective of the best horror movie moments of the last decade

The horror cable channel Chiller will air its first original special Dec. 17 at 8 p.m.

Chiller 13: The Decades Scariest Movie Moments is a look back at the top 13 horror movie scenes from the last 10 years. Produced by Emmy Award-winning company Associated Television International, the 90-minute special will include appearances by director Lucky McKee (May), special makeup effects supervisor Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead), writer Steve Niles (30 Days of Night), and actors Tony Todd (Candyman) and Betsy Russell (the Saw franchise.)

The only cable channel devoted exclusively to horror, Chiller recently underwent a makeover in an effort to broaden its appeal. The rebranding, courtesy of the same team that handled Syfy networks recent overhaul, included a new logo, more diverse programming and a new tag line Scary Good.

The channel also has plans for more original programming in the near future, and their first original movie The Passenger, based on the novella by Jack Ketchum, will air in spring 2011.

Other programming on Chiller includes feature films, documentary and reality shows such as Fear Factor and anthology series such as Masters of Horror. Television series aired on the channel include Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Twin Peaks, The X-Files and Millennium.
